Guild House Residential Home
Our dedicated team are committed to caring for our residents, and providing the very best experience possible, so they feel completely at ease from the minute they arrive. Staff also undergo specialist training, to support our residents who live with dementia.
What we offer
Guild House has accommodation for 34 residents, on three floors, with the top two floors – Bluebell wing and Grace wing – dedicated to those with dementia.
Feeling at home is very important, so all our residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms, and we’ve decorated many doors to look like a proper front door. All the rooms are of a very high standard, with en suite facilities.
There is a dining room and lounge on each floor, with a large conservatory downstairs opening onto beautiful, sunny gardens. Smaller seating areas are dotted around the home, so residents can go for a quiet chat, or to read. On Grace wing, we have a calming garden room.
All food is freshly cooked on site in our kitchens, and drinks and snacks are available at any time of day or night.
“we work in our residents’ home – they don’t live in our place of work”
What we do
It will probably be quicker to say what we don’t do that what we do ‘do’! We have regular trips out to local beauty spots, like the lavender fields and bluebell walks; we visit cafes, stop for ice cream, and even go to Bristol Zoo.
We have a full and varied programme of activities including regular bingo, fitness sessions, pet therapy and arts and crafts. There is a book club for our book-lovers, and a knit and natter group for our nimble fingered. We also have a number of resident and family get-togethers throughout the year.
Hairdressers and chiropodists pay regular visits, and pamper sessions are also available.
For our residents with dementia, music therapists also come in to run regular sessions.
Family and Friends
Family and friends are welcome at any time. They can join us for meals, and we always have tea and coffee making facilities on hand so they can make hot drinks and enjoy spending time with their loved ones.
We love to help families celebrate special events, and it is always a highlight when we host a party for a ‘big’ birthday. Our catering staff go to town, and put on a great spread.
Guild House also host other groups, such as the Mother’s Union from St Catherine’s Church, which really helps nurture a community feel.
