This week is dementia awareness week!
What makes Kimbrose so special are the friendships we form.
We have also reunited school friends, work colleagues – brothers and sisters, and have supported these old familiar friendships to flourish as well as introducing new friends.
Come and visit us at Kimbrose you never know who you might meet!
Some of our club members may not remember names or even faces, but they understand how a friendly smiling face makes them feel, the sense of a familiar face and caring conversations can make the world of difference
Its important to us that all our club members feel a sense of belonging when they come to the club – we do this by making sure we have a good understanding of their life history ensuring the activities we provide are interesting and achievable.
We support our club members to talk to others with similar pasts and interests.
Friendships are so important as they offer emotional support, mental stimulation and reducing the feelings of loneliness and isolation , regular interactions with friends can offer a comforting sense of normality.
We are always on the look out for new ideas, so if there is anything you would like us to include, please get in touch.
