We’re very proud of the excellent care we provide at our residential home, Magdalen House, where our residents are valued and supported.

It is very important that everyone feels settled, happy and at home. Our team work hard to make sure they really get to know our residents – their likes, dislikes, family relationships and so on – and all this forms part of an individual care plan.

We liaise closely with our residents, their families, and health professional such as GPs to ensure the plan continues to meet their needs.

Our caring staff are passionate about helping our residents to settle in and feel at home, from the moment they arrive and for all the time they are with us.

We offer sensitive, caring and supportive end of life and palliative care for residents. We also support their families up to and beyond the time when their loved one passes away.

What we offer

Magdalen House provides accommodation for 29 residents, each with their own room furnished to a high standard, including bespoke furniture designed to meet individual needs, en-suite facilities, BT phone points, a television, provision for Sky, and a call system. Every room is ready to move in and feel at home.

Upstairs, a beautiful restaurant-style dining room offers a welcoming space for meals, while downstairs, a combined lounge, craft, and café area provides a vibrant social hub. There’s also a safe and beautifully designed garden area with plenty of seating, perfect for enjoying the sunshine or relaxing in the shade.

What we do

At Magdalen House, there are many varied activities – we’ve had a visit from Pedro the Donkey who called in on those residents unable to make it to the garden, a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration, and trips out on the Willow Trust boat where residents are given the opportunity to steer the boat.

Our residents’ views and choices are very important to us, so we always ask them where would they like to go–a favourite that comes around year after year is to go to Weston - Super-Mare and have fish and chips on the beach; we pack the mini bus with goodies for the trip and off we go! Our Activities Team will go above and beyond to meet our residents needs.

Weekly trips out are organised to local beauty spots, for bluebell walks, picnics, or even to visit the resting places of residents’ loved ones.

Social evenings, quizzes, bingo and fitness sessions, all feature. We have inter generational activities at least once a month, where our residents have great fun joining in with nursery children, who manage to bring a smile to everyone.

Family and Friends

Visitors are welcome at anytime, and can join us for meals or take part in any of the many activities we run. Tea and coffee making facilities are on hand, so they can make hot drinks and enjoy spending time with their loved ones.
