This week is dementia awareness week!

Today is all about music and signing. Our club members have varied music tastes, from Rock and metal to pop and classical music.

As our members get younger so do their music tastes we no longer sing war time classics it’s much more 60s , 70s and 80s!!

It well document that music and singing is good for our health, there is evidence that singing helps our immune system, eases pain and can help sleep. When we sing, we release endorphins, this in proves our mood making us feel positive and energised

We always ensure music weaves it way throughout our days!

On a Friday we take a few of our club members to the Dementia Choir at Gloucester Music Academy and we also join Mind Song over Zoom;  this has been great because one of our club members is able to sing with her brother who lives in Canada.

Singing with these groups brings us closer to our community.

We are always on the look out for new ideas, so if there is anything you would like us to include, please get in touch.
