Residents Enjoy a Great British Seaside Summer Fayre
Residents from Guild House, Magdalen House, Kimbrose Club and Gloucester Charities Trust’s sheltered housing schemes came together with families, staff, friends and members of the local community for the Trust’s annual Summer Fayre.
Held on the green at St Margaret’s, this year’s event had a Great British Seaside Holiday theme, bringing all the fun of the coast to Gloucester. The day included traditional games, entertainment, refreshments, donkeys, sandcastle building and plenty of opportunities for everyone to socialise and enjoy the summer sunshine.
“We would like to thank everyone who helped organise the fayre, provided entertainment or refreshments, volunteered their time or simply came along and supported the event.”
Live performances were provided by Gloucester Strings Ukulele Band and singers Hambling and Lloyd, while the donkeys from Stroud Mini Farm proved especially popular with residents and visitors. Guests also enjoyed food from Gage Catering, ice creams from Whippy Tee and delicious cakes from the No.76 Coffee and Community Hub stall.
The Trust was also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Gloucester, who spoke warmly about his personal connection with Gloucester Charities Trust and the important role the organisation has played within the city.
The event brought together residents from both care homes, members of Kimbrose Club and residents from the Trust’s sheltered housing communities, making it a wonderful opportunity for the whole GCT community to spend time together.
“It was lovely to see so many residents, club members, families, staff and members of the community enjoying the day together. Events like this create special memories, encourage social interaction and help people remain connected with the wider community.
